Has any one seen the publicity stunt gone bad that the cartoon net work did. I have to be honest I don’t like most of the Adult swim stuff. I really just watch the Anime.
I don’t know but, it seems anime has lost its popularity. I think people would rather watch a soda with eyes attacking some stranger on the street and pulling there guts out and then laugh about it. And that is the whole show. It does not need a story line. Some times I wander why I even bother with my comic. Maybe I should just do a comic about man eating snow. Every time some one steps out side they are eaten by snow. No story, just man eating snow. Every page could be this guy walking out side and stepping in snow. And only getting a few steps then BAM, he is eaten by the snow and gone for ever. I could do this on every page. Just have a different person eaten by the snow. Better yet the same people over and over. lots of blood and guts.  The best part about this man eating snow comic is that the art would have to look like shit. Just do my worst art ever and spend ½ hour per page.
You know what is funny, but My Man eating snow comic I think would do better then my Swenyar’s Find comic. Because that is the kind of stuff the cartoon net work shows. Maybe they would pick it up and make a cartoon out of it. Ya!!!

I am going to stick to Swenyar’s Find. But it just is frustrating. There is a mind set in the western culture that I think started in the 1700’s with political cartoons in news papers. If the cartoon is going to be for adults it has to be political or lewd. Marvel comic were first designed with children in mind. Those children grew up and continued loving there comics and Marvel and Dark Horse design comics with adults in mind. But even in that arena nothing new has come out for years. They just keep rehashing the old ideas. Also the Marvel super hero comics is a all men’s club. There are not that many women involved in the industry nor are those comics geared toward girls. I think Japanese Anime and Manga’s are as popular as they are here in the US because the comics are not just made for boys. There are comics for both sex’s and all ages. There is still a mind set that cartoons are for kids and any thing for adults should be political, humorous or lewd. I was hoping that Megatokyo had paved a larger road for the rest of Western Manga style artists to follow. But since the bigger retail stores here in the US such as Media Play closed there doors our industry has been sorely impacted. Cartoon Net work has done all most nothing to support the industry they are just promoting there own in house work.
